Anchor Brewery Tour, 2012

10am, on a cold (by SF standards!) but clear Thursday morning, the Bluelab sets out...

Left to right: Marc, Michel, Mahesh, Armando, Jason, Fred.

We have arrived!  The Anchor Brewing Company is the oldest active brewery in SF (since 1896).

The anticipation builds as we wait for our tour to begin.

Anchor beers are made with traditional copper brewers.  Too bad you can't smell the wort!, ummmm smells amazing!!

Anchor "Steam" Beer gets its name from the natural cooling process that puts off a lot of steam after the wort is heated up.  This is what makes their beer so special!

Due to Jeff's busy schedule, it's not uncommon for him to arrive a touch late and leave a little early, but he always makes it out for the lab events!  This photo was able to capture his presence, just barely.  It's sort of "matrix"-esque, Jeff can make time stand still!  Don't ask.

Ahh, the moment we've been waiting for, the reason we came, the beer!

We had a great tour guide.  Hey Malika, what was his name?

The beers currently brewed and available from Anchor.  Some of us tried them all!

It's an amazing tasting of all of their different styles of beer at their traditionally appointed tasting room.

The positive side-effects of the beer have begun to settle in, look at how happy we are!

Admittedly, arranging a lab beer tasting might lead to a bit of gender bias in participation.  But Malika did make these arrangements!!

...and this sign probably needs a little bit of gender modernization.

In the end, this was just the beginning to another great day!
